Climate disasters, skyrocketing energy bills, human rights violations and neo-colonialism, wars and conflicts … Our dependence on fossil fuels comes at a high price. Despite this, the big polluters of this jet-black industry still do whatever they want. Fair climate and social policies for citizens and workers are still delayed.
In recent years, many, if not millions, have mobilised to demand a profound systemic change. However, our voices were not heard and change remains absent. Let us take the next step together because time is running out!
The first major Code Red mobilisation targets oil and gas giant TotalEnergies.
Why?
With the third largest refinery in Europe and the largest network of petrol stations in Belgium, this fossil giant manages to make billions in profits. Deliberately ignoring reality and the scientific consensus, TotalEnergies continues to blindly invest in the extraction and marketing of fossil fuels. Yet the company has known for more than 50 years that its activities will lead to a world where we cannot live anymore, and the consequences are already being felt in our own households.
TotalEnergies is much more than a symbol. Their corporate history is directly linked to (neo)colonialism, stealing natural and personal resources, spreading disinformation (including greenwashing) and projects that are devastating to the environment and climate. The big polluters have long determined our future. By acting together, we can put an end to this.
